A 21-goal striker who Theirry Henry called ‘brilliant’ should be Arsenal’s priority signing this summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta’s side ran Manchester City close for the Premier League title but ultimately fell just short with many citing their lack of a prolific number nine as one of the reasons for that.
Gabriel Jesus has struggled to replicate the form he displayed at the start of his Arsenal career and whilst Kai Havertz is effective, he just isn’t a world-class striker.
With that said, here is one forward Arsenal should go all out to sign.
Arsenal should try to sign Dominic Solanke
If Arsenal are to pip Manchester City to the league title, they’ll need to sign a prolific number nine this summer and Dominic Solanke should be that man.
The Bournemouth frontman enjoyed a stellar campaign last year, netting 19 goals in the Premier League – 21 in all competitions.
Gunners legend Thierry Henry is a fan of Solanke and labelled him ‘brilliant’, so if he’s got the cosign off the Frenchman, perhaps Edu should seriously consider launching a proposal.
The 26-year-old has a £65m release clause active for Arsenal and the rest of the traditional big six.
Dominic Solanke is ready Arsenal
Solanke has always been a highly-rated forward, so much so, that he secured a move to Liverpool from Chelsea aged 19.
It didn’t quite work out at Anfield but he reinvented himself on the south coast with Bournemouth after a tough start.
Now, he looks like the player most thought he’d be as a youngster and is ready to make the step up to Arsenal at this stage of his career.
