'Absolutely scandalous' - Journalist fumes at Rangers as 'Terrible' news emerges ahead of Hibs

Rangers not confirming the ticket arrangements 72 hours before the Hibs game is a terrible way to treat fans, believes Barry Anderson.

The Edinburgh Times journalist reacted to the news of Ibrox being at full capacity for the game after Copland Rear has been re-opened.

The Daily Record reported on 25 September that Hibs had taken the ticket row to the SPFL as they’re attempting to secure full allocation for the game.

Hibs then confirmed that they had received what they wanted, with tickets going live at 5pm.

Anderson wrote on X: “Good to see Ibrox back open but absolutely scandalous that Rangers still haven’t confirmed ticket arrangements for Hibs fans at Ibrox with less than 72 hours till kick-off. Terrible way to treat supporters.”

Rangers cannot be treating away fans like this

Anderson is right – Gers have no right to treat away fans like how they have been.

Everything surrounding the redevelopment of Ibrox has been a mess and it’s all unravelling in the worst way possible.

The entire point of football is to have both sets of fans present in the stadium as it creates the animosity needed to make the atmosphere better than it can ever be.

Gers have not only not confirmed the allocation for Hibs fans, they’ve not issued periodic updates or even issued an apology about it.

When the club gets a bad reputation in the SPFL, these are reasons why and they’ve certainly got to improve their act sooner rather than later.

It’s good to see that they responded quickly and communicate well with the concerned parties to solve this mess right away.

The last thing Rangers want is to be embroiled in another scandal when there’s so much to deal with on and off the pitch.
