'Alarm bells' - King shares Everton relegation verdict after Tottenham thrashing

Bryan King believes Everton will be relegated from the Premier League if they continue to put in performances like they did against Tottenham.

The ex-Everton scout claims “alarm bells” will already be ringing at Goodison Park with relegation a real possibility this season.

It comes after Sean Dyche’s side were thrashed 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (24 August).

Although King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – still feels as though there were some positives for the Toffees to take from the match.

“They have conceded seven goals in two games,” King said.

“It looks as though it will be another long season for Everton which will see them fighting for Premier League survival.

“They did have moments against Tottenham, and maybe against a lesser team, they might have got a result. However, based on the two results, alarm bells will no doubt be starting to ring at Goodison Park.

“We always talk about Everton being a big club. However, I am afraid that won’t keep them up if they’re going to continue to put in those types of performances.”

Everton to be relegated from the Premier League?

It has been a miserable few years for supporters at Goodison Park.

Everton have been flirting with relegation constantly over the past few seasons, managing to avoid the drop on each occasion.

And for any supporters who were thinking this season – their last at Goodison Park – would be any different, they might want to think again.

Everton manager Sean Dyche

Unfortunately for Evertonians, It looks as though it is going to be another year of Dyche and his players fighting to remain in the Premier League.

As a result, the mood will no doubt be low in the blue half of Merseyside.

In other Everton news, Newcastle United are lining up a late bid for one player at the club.
