Arsenal's Martin Odegaard sends message to Kai Havertz after big announcement

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has taken to social media to congratulate Kai Havertz as he expects his first child.

Havertz, 25, and his partner Sophia made the announcement on Thursday (November 28) just two days after the German played a starring role in Arsenal’s 5-1 Champions League win over Sporting, in which he scored their second goal.

It’s been quite the year for the forward, not only has he established himself as a key player for Mikel Arteta, scoring four goals and providing one assist in eleven Premier League appearances so far this season, he is now set to become a father for the first time.

Arsenal appear to have put a rocky set of results behind them, comfortably winning their last two games, having won one in their previous five.

Odegaard, 25, was a huge miss for Arsenal during his time on the sidelines, with Arteta’s side falling behind in the race for the Premier League title.

Since his return, the Norway international has provided two goal contributions in his three starts, including the assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s opener against rivals Chelsea.

Happy for his friend and teammate, Odegaard took to Instagram to congratulate Havertz by responding to his post.

With Man City winless in their last six games, Arteta’s side could be above them come Saturday (November 30) as they travel to West Ham.

Liverpool are a completely different beast, however, eight points clear at the top of the table, a win over Man City on Sunday (December 1) would make them clear favourites to lift the trophy.
