Atletico Madrid are still looking at bringing in another player this summer, that much was admitted by Diego Simeone on Tuesday. It looks as if their target will be a central midfielder.
Los Rojiblancos have been linked with a loan move for Manchester City’s Matheus Nunes, and have also opened talks with Luis Milla at Getafe. A third option has also emerged, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that they have made an enquiry for Al-Ahli’s Gabri Veiga.

The result of that enquiry is as of yet unknown. Veiga made the move to Saudi Arabia last summer, a switch that was famously dubbed ’embarassing’ by Toni Kroos. Veiga has not had the desired impact in the Middle East, scoring four times and assisting four times in his 23 appearances so far.

Meanwhile Atleti are also looking at potential exits, with Javi Galan in talks with both Besiktas and Galatasaray in Turkey. He does not have a place in Diego Simeone’s plans.
It seems like Los Colchoneros are aiming for major competition within the squad for places this season, as they already have a plethora of options in the middle of the pitch. There has been talk that Thomas Lemar could be nudged towards the exit door too, but less mention of a potential destination.
