As per Cesar Luis Merlo, Atletico have opened talks for Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez. The Argentina star is open to a move as he is not getting the game time that he desires at City, and would be open to a move to Spain. It is not clear whether those talks are with Alvarez’s agent or with City themselves

Previous reports have stated that if he were given a choice, Alvarez would rather head to Real Madrid, but would be open to a move to Spain. All the same, if it were to be a permanent move, then Paris Saint-Germain are cited as the only side that could afford to prise him away from City. Certainly he would be a marquee signing, but it seems unlikely if talks for Artem Dovbyk, with a €40m release clause causing talks to stall.
