The club has now revealed the nature of Christensen’s injury. As per an official report, the 28-year-old is suffering with tendinopathy in his left achilles. They state that his return will be determined by how he recovers, but the expectation is that he will not return before the end of October.

During pre-season, it was noted that Christensen had been suffering with tendonitis. It appears that the issue has gradually got worse, and this is the result. It’s the last thing that Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick needs, as he was already without Ronald Araujo for the next four months after he suffered a serious hamstring injury during the Copa America earlier this summer.
