Harry Poole shared that the fact Sean Dyche believes Everton have “found a way” to get results will be “vital” to the Merseyside outfit retaining their Premier League status this season.

The Toffees narrowly missed out on getting a point from their clash against the Saints on 2 November after Beto’s 91st-minute strike was ruled out for offside, which resulted in their five-game unbeaten streak in the top flight coming to an end.

Writing for the BBC Sport website (2 November), journalist Poole shared his verdict on Everton’s chances of Premier League survival.

“Dyche admitted his side had not been playing their best but had “found a way” to get results – a characteristic which has been vital to ensuring they have retained their Premier League status despite recent struggles,” he wrote.

Everton need to do better against West Ham United

Before their 1-0 loss to the Saints on Saturday, Everton found themselves on a decent unbeaten streak.

Most of the Toffees’ outings this season have left a lot to be desired but their recent form had at least brought some encouragement.

The team have been fairly cohesive with one another and the performances of players such as Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye have helped carry the Merseyside outfit to many of their recent results.

Everton’s next Premier League clash is away against West Ham United on 9 November and has the potential to be the turning point in the season for both sides.

Neither of the two clubs have been at their best this term and while the Hammers may have had some more impressive results this season, such as their 2-1 win over Manchester United, on recent form, it feels like Everton have a better chance of winning.

If McNeil can perform as well as he did against Crystal Palace earlier in the campaign or if Dominic Calvert-Lewin can find his shooting boots, it could end up being a much-needed victory for Dyche and his men.
