Bukayo Saka has named two Arsenal stars who’ve taken the club to the next level as they look to end a 20-year wait to clinch the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta has transformed the Gunners into genuine challengers but they have narrowly missed out to Manchester City for the last two seasons in a row.

Saka has been one of the most important players for Arsenal during that period but he has now lauded two of his teammates for helping the club get even better.

Those two players are Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber, who both joined the north Londoners in the summer of 2023 from Chelsea and Ajax respectively.

‘I’ve always thought Kai’s an unbelievable player,’ Saka told CBS Sports. ‘Everyone in the dressing room did too.

‘We’re so happy that he’s showing that. This season he has come out with even more confidence, I think he’s scored in almost every game.

‘He’s going to score a lot of goals this season. He has a really good understanding around the box, when to attack it, and that’s why he gets a lot of chances and that’s why hopefully he’ll score a lot of goals.’

Quizzed about Timber, Saka added: ‘He gave me a lot of confidence that when he’s one vs. one with an attacker he’s going to win the ball back and give it to me.

‘On the ball he’s so composed, so calm and confident. He’s a top player, I’m happy he’s showing it.

‘It must have been hard for him, knowing that he had that much ability but was on the sidelines for a year.

‘He always kept his head, stayed humble and worked so hard. I’m happy that now he’s getting the praises he deserves.’

Dutch defender Timber featured in Arsenal’s first six Premier League matches this term but he missed the most recent win over Southampton due to injury.

German forward Havertz, meanwhile, has produced seven goal involvements across 10 games in all competitions so far this season.
