The 20-year-old defender joined Die Adler from Borussia Dortmund last summer but could only make two appearances for Dino Toppmöller’s side. However, he played sixteen games for the club’s youth side.
As per German outlet, Kicker, Nürnberg are interested in a loan deal for the Frankfurt man and talks about a transfer are already underway, but an agreement has not yet been reached.
Frankfurt are not averse to Collins’ exit from the Commerzbank Arena. Still, the club’s sports director, Timmo Hardung, is keen on choosing a club that’ll promote the young defender’s development as best as possible in the short and medium term and help him to develop his footballing potential.
The 1.91m tall defender’s current contract with Frankfurt runs until the summer of 2028, and he hopes to become a club regular by the time his contract winds up.
Collins played in Frankfurt’s 12-0 friendly over German district league team, TSV 1873 Heusenstamm and even got on the scoresheet, scoring the team’s fifth goal.
The former Dortmund man was born in Düsseldorf, Germany, and is eligible to represent Nigeria via his family. He started his football career with Fortuna Düsseldorf and moved to Borussia Dortmund’s academy in 2016, where he became German A-Junior champion with the U-19’s in 2022. After his first steps in the professional field in BVB’s second team in League Three, he moved on to Frankfurt.
Collins has represented the German youth national team from the U-15 level to the U-20 level.
