Dan Bardell believes Joan Jordan could help Rangers to have a positive season in Europe if he signs from Sevilla.

Spanish journalist Maximo de la Cruz Ramirez reported on 13 July that the Gers had made a 30 per cent wage offer to take the 30-year-old on loan.

The approach was rejected and now Estadio Deportivo has reported (16 July) that the Spaniard has since returned to pre-season training in Seville.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has urged the Light Blues to sign the midfielder to boost their European qualification hopes.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “It is always difficult for Rangers to pull in players from big leagues and there’s no doubt that LaLiga is one of those.

If they can sign Jordan, he’ll bring European experience which could boost Rangers for another European campaign for them.

Rangers will be looking at every market possible and are clearly looking to add quality in the centre of midfield.

If they can get someone like Jordan in, with great experience, for a cheap outlay then I can see why they would push forward with that deal.

Rangers told to sign Joan Jordan

The Sevilla midfielder has featured across various teams in Spain across his career and has won two Europa League titles in that time.

It now appears that his time in LaLiga looks to have ended, with Sevilla boss Garcia Pimienta looking to part ways with the former Espanyol man.

After already signing Connor Barron this summer, it appears that Philippe Clement wants to add an experienced midfield operator to his squad.

This has seen links to Kenny McClean [Derek Clark] but Jordan could prove to be the perfect option for the Belgian ahead of the new season.

It remains unclear whether the Gers will stump up the wages that the central midfielder will demand but there is no doubt that he would represent positive business.

In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement may have to look elsewhere in order to raise funds for new arrivals.
