Devyne Rensch talks held in new Tottenham and Liverpool transfer update

Tottenham are one of the teams interested in Ajax defender Devyne Rensch, according to CaughtOffside.

The news outlet reports [21 November] that Spurs are “hovering” as potential suitors for the Netherlands international, with Premier League rivals Liverpool also keeping an eye on him.

Scouts have sent positive feedback to the Reds about the 21-year-old, who has also held talks with his Eredivisie outfit over signing a new contract.

Tottenham should keep Devyne Rensch on radar

Rensch is someone who has shown immense potential during his time with Ajax, breaking into their first-team setup in the 2020/21 season.

Over the years, the 21-year-old has primarily played on the right-hand side of the defence but has also been deployed as a centre-back and has made 17 appearances in all competitions in the current campaign for de Godenzonen.

Tottenham have Pedro Porro at their disposal, and the Spaniard has been a pivotal member of the team under Ange Postecoglou.

The 25-year-old has developed into a fan favourite this season, starting in every Premier League game and took his form into the recent international break, starring for Spain against Denmark on 15 November in the Nations League.

But Porro’s consistent performances have also meant that top European clubs have him on their agenda, with Real Madrid monitoring the right-back [AS, 30 October].

Archie Gray has deputised in the absence of the former Manchester City star in other competitions, but the 18-year-old still has a long way to go before establishing himself in the first team.

Porro’s rise will only see him garner more attention, and if the Spaniard were to leave the Lilywhites, then Rensch would undoubtedly be someone Spurs could consider as a replacement.
