Gordon Duncan labelled Kilmarnock “dismal” as Rangers put six goals past them at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

The Gers put in an excellent display against their opponents and deservedly came away with all three points on 4 December.

It was a dominant display as five different players got on the scoresheet, giving Gers fans something to truly cheers about domestically. On the flipside, it was a night to forget for Kilmarnock.

And speaking live on Sky Sports News [4 December, 9:27pm], reporter Duncan said from Ibrox: “It’s worth remembering Rangers only scored 18 league goals before tonight – only five teams in the division had scored fewer. Now they’ve got six. It’s a dismal night for Kilmarnock.”

The start of a change for Rangers?

While three points are the most important thing, Gers fans will no doubt be overjoyed to finally see a convincing performance in the league from their side and players throughout their team showing their ability to contribute to the side.

It is essential for Phillipe Clement’s side to now carry on this form as they go forward, with inconsistency being a key theme in their season so far.

The boss himself has spoken about needing time to change this at Ibrox and he will be hoping this is the start of that change.

However, there is no denying that the performance from Kilmarnock tonight was poor in itself and, although the Gers were able to capitalise on this, it won’t always be this easy for them even if they are a side with improved form going forward.

This victory will be a massive boost for all concerned at Ibrox and they will be looking towards this result to give them the confidence and momentum to push forward now.

In other Rangers news, a first-team player is not in Philippe Clement’s long-term plans in his last season at Ibrox.
