Everton defender Seamus Coleman is out with a Grade 2 injury and is expected to be out for up to three weeks, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that it is also unlikely he is ready to start a game for a month as he’ll need to gradually be eased back.
The 36-year-old has made just the one league apperance this season which was the 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth on 31 August and he even had to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad recently.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Coleman: “Dyche commented that it was minor so this seems like it would be Grade 2 out of 4 which can be two or three weeks.
“If that’s the case, his rehab will be working on his strength and mobility to eventually progress to higher intensity.
“He’ll obviously be needed to be eased back so it’s unlikely to see him starting for another month, at least.”
Everton may not hand Seamus Coleman a new contract in the summer
Coleman, due to his age, will undoubtedly find it harder to make a return to full fitness as soon as possible.
It also seems highly unlikely, from purely a financial standpoint that he will be handed a new contract at the end of the season.
Usually, players at his age prefer retiring from international football to prolong their domestic career so that’s something he might consider.
In other Everton news, the valuation of a first-team player has dropped by £8.3million since his move to Goodison Park.
