Erling Haaland singled out one Chelsea star for ‘stamping’ and ‘pushing’ the striker throughout Manchester City’s 2-0 win on Sunday.

He also roasted Marc Cucurella after the Blues defender attempted to taunt his rival in a song following Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph.

Goals from Haaland and Mateo Kovacic at Stamford Bridge ensured City’s Premier League title defence began with a win.

It was a particularly special victory for the prolific Norwegian as he marked his 100th appearance for the Citizens with a goal – his 91st for the club to be exact.

The 24-year-old was however very annoyed with one aspect of the match, sharing his unhappiness with Chelsea’s players for what he perceived to be constant fouling, with Enzo Fernandez bearing the brunt of his anger.

‘All the time he [Fernandez] stamps on me, he pushes me and everything, not only him,’ Haaland told Match of the Day.

‘I don’t know what they want but that’s what they do I guess.’

Fernandez’s first-half performance was slated by pundits including Gary Neville who said that he and his midfield partners were ‘run ragged’ by City.

Haaland was also asked by Norwegian TV about Cucurella who had previously been filmed singing: ‘Cucu, Cucurella, he eats paella, Cucu, Cucurella he drinks Estrella, Haaland you’d better tremble as Cucurella is coming.’

The left-back was one of the Chelsea defenders out-muscled and out skilled by Haaland for City’s opening goal.

‘It was an interesting song, that, from that guy [Cucurella],’ the striker said.

‘There’s not that much to say. I don’t really think about that. He can do what he wants.

‘Last year he asked me for my jersey, and then he starts singing about me.’
