Everton have asked about the availability of Juventus striker Arkadiusz Milik and may consider a summer transfer push if a striker leaves this summer, according to Tutto Sport.
The Italian outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (23 July) that the Toffees alongside Premier League rivals West Ham United and Brentford are keeping tabs on the Polish international’s situation in Turin.
Sean Dyche’s side could consider a move for the 30-year-old forward if Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Beto head elsewhere this summer, having both been linked with moves away from Goodison Park this summer.
Juventus are looking for a fee between £5million and £5.8million for the striker’s signature and there is a belief that both West Ham and Brentford could act on their initial interest sooner rather than later.
Are Everton close to any new signings in the summer transfer window?
With speculation surrounding several of Everton’s current striking options, it is only right that the Toffees begin putting succession plans in place in case either of their first choice number nines depart in the coming weeks.
Ever since Dyche arrived at the club there has been a reliance on the goals of Calvert-Lewin to fire the Blues up the table. Everton have moved to avoid that with the signing of Iliman Ndiaye, but he alone may not be enough.
Milik may not have been the most prolific of forwards in recent years, but the Polish international has shown throughout his career that he knows where the goal is and that could be enough to convince the Toffees to make a move.
Juventus’ low asking price and desire to sell the 30-year-old only make the move more appealing from the Blues’ perspective as it would be as close to a free hit as they could get in the transfer market.
Whether or not the Blues make a push for his signature will depend on what sort of movement happens out of Goodison in the coming weeks, so this could be a transfer saga that rumbles on until the end of the window.
