Everton Sources: Calvert-Lewin's exit plan revealed

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to run down his contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

AC Milan are interested in a move for the 27-year-old, whose deal is up at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Calvert-Lewin can discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides from 1 January, and he will listen to any proposals from overseas clubs – but will not make a final decision in the new year.

However, the forward is currently keen to explore the market as a free agent at the end of the season – when English clubs will also be able to approach him.

Football Insider revealed on 29 November that Everton are reluctant to see Calvert-Lewin leave the club for a fee in January despite his dwindling contract.

The 27-year-old is still viewed as a key part of Sean Dyche’s team due to the physical presence he brings up front.

Calvert-Lewin won’t make final decision on Everton exit in January

Calvert-Lewin has hit two goals and notched one assist in 13 Premier League games this term.

He was dropped from the starting lineup for the first time on Sunday (1 December) as Everton lost 4-0 away at Man United.

Beto came into the side to replace the Englishman but has struggled to impose himself during his opportunities.

Everton sit 15th in the table after 13 games and are just two points above the drop zone.

Dyche’s side are next in action against struggling Wolves on Wednesday (4 December) before a derby clash against table-topping Liverpool on Saturday (7 December).
