Everton star to consider offers to leave despite 'Lucrative' deal tabled - report

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is open to evaluating offers to leave Everton despite being offered a “lucrative” extension to his contract at Goodison Park, TEAMtalk reports.

According to the outlet’s website on 24 October the Toffees striker isn’t actively looking to depart “contrary to reports”, and has a good relationship with the club still, but will consider options to move away.

Calvert-Lewin is well into the final year of his deal and turned down the club’s attempts to reopen contract talks last month [i News, 4 October], before re-entering discussions, potentially in the wake of the Dan Friedkin takeover announcement [TEAMtalk, 13 October].

But he has apparently not closed the door on leaving the club, despite the prospect of the club’s ownership situation finally being resolved.

Armando Broja set to join Everton training

The chances of Calvert-Lewin staying have certainly increased significantly since The Friedkin Group raced back into the picture to secure a deal with Farhad Moshiri ahead of John Textor.

It seems quite possible that a deal to extend his stay on Merseyside is now done, but until one is confirmed there is no guarantee, especially with multiple clubs showing interest in the summer.

Chelsea and Newcastle have been tipped to return to the frame in the January window [GiveMeSport, 15 October] and Juventus are already circling [Corriere dello Sport, 13 October] thanks to his contract status.

As things stand it would be a huge blow to Sean Dyche’s improving side to lose their top striker midseason, even as Chelsea loanee Armando Broja is now nearing his first involvement.

An exit may be more probable in the summer, by which time the recruitment under the Friedkins should be properly underway and potentially able to deal with losing Calvert-Lewin.

Beto also remains available but has struggled for game time this year and is also interesting Juventus, with the club thought to be willing to let him leave in January [Graeme Bailey, 15 October].

Youssef Chermiti’s injury lay-off isn’t expected to end any time soon either [Alan Myers, 19 October] so the striker position remains unsettled from top to bottom.

In other Everton news, Dyche has shared an “unfortunate” Dele Alli update after his latest injury.
