Everton to hold talks final with ace today to complete signing as clubs agree deal - report

Everton are set for talks with Jesper Lindstrom in the next few hours to complete a deal to sign the winger, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian outlet report via their website on 20 July that the Danish international is set to part ways with Napoli today after the Serie A side’s sporting director Giovanni Manna reached a full agreement with the Toffees on a loan-to-buy deal.

Personal terms are said to be the last thing left before completing the move which will come with a permanent option worth €25million [£21.08m].

Everton move forward in wake of Dan Friedkin takeover collapse

The Toffees were already a long way down the road in their pursuit of Lindstrom when the bombshell news arrived that Dan Friedkin had abandoned his takeover bid [The Athletic, 19 July].

That doesn’t look to have caused any issues with Napoli as the Italians look for a way to correct what proved to be a mistake in signing the wide man a year ago.

Alan Myers (19 July) has indicated that the transfer window should continue as planned this summer despite the renewed uncertainty at the top since Friedkin wasn’t in control of that yet.

So Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche will have to hope that Lindstrom himself isn’t put off by the situation and they can complete another new addition to join Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Ireogbunam and the return of Jack Harrison on loan.

Everton Sean Dyche
Sean Dyche faces more uncertainty above at Everton but looks set for another signing.

Assuming he agrees to head to Merseyside it would necessarily end the pursuit of any further loanees this summer as the two slots would be filled, knocking them out of the race for Lesley Ugochukwu from Chelsea [Foot Mercato, 13 July].

In other Everton news, Paul Joyce has shared an update on a rival Toffees bidder after Dan Friedkin walked away from his deal.
