Ex-Spurs employee: Tottenham could sign in-form Wolves star for £40m+

Bryan King expects that Wolves would want at least £40million for Tottenham target Matheus Cunha.

The ex-Spurs scout thinks the 25-year-old could be an interesting addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

As reported by TBR Football [25 November], Tottenham and Manchester United are keeping an eye on Cunha. However, Gary O’Neil has been assured the forward will not be sold in January.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has speculated what kind of fee Wolves would want for Cunha.

“Spurs should always be looking to strengthen the squad,” King said.

“Players of Premier League quality, like Cuhna, will always help you to strengthen your team. Cunha is a regular first-team player at Wolves who has had a positive six months. He is relatively young, but he still has plenty of experience in European football.

“Therefore, he could be an interesting option for Tottenham. Wolves will want at least £40million for him.”

Cunha has been on fire this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in just 12 Premier League appearances.

Therefore, it is no surprise that some of the bigger clubs are taking notice. However, Spurs currently have several injury concerns, with the likes of Mikey Moore still out of action.

As a result, gaps are appearing in Postecoglou’s squad, and he will want additions in January, with a potential loan move for the next Martin Ødegaard speculated [via TBR Football, 21 November].

Therefore, if Cunha isn’t available in the winter, Spurs could move on from their interest in the player.
