- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
TBR Football understands that Leeds United are showing late interest in signing Harrison Burrows from Peterborough United.
Burrows was in advanced talks to join Sheffield United but Leeds’ late interest has complicated things, as they consider a last minute hi-jack.
The attacking left-back has been told by Peterborough that he will be leaving the League One club this week, but whether that is to Elland Road or Bramall Lane is now unclear.
Leeds United in talks to sign Harrison Burrows
TBR understands that Leeds have officially made an approach to sign highly-rated Peterborough defender Burrows, who is out of contract next year.
A move to Championship rivals Sheffield United was on course to be completed in the coming days but The Whites have now flexed their muscles and are willing to go toe-to-toe to land his signature.
At this stage, is it now yet known if a bid has been lodged but there seems to be a genuine interest in the 22-year-old that could intensify in the coming hours.
Peterborough owner hints Leeds lead the race for Harrison Burrows
Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony dropped a subtle hint on talkSPORT this morning that Leeds could be in the driving seat for the 2002-born.
The Posh owner appeared to suggest that The Blades had fallen behind Leeds in the race to land his prized asset.
What this all means for Junior Firpo remains to be seen but it’s evident Farke is keen to bring in the attacking full-back, who is one of the youngest captains in the EFL.
A £3m price tag has been mooted, so it’s certainly a very feasible deal to do for Leeds following Jayden Boygle’s £5m switch from Sheffield United.
In other news, Leeds are set for a controversial off-pitch windfall as Paraag Marath sets budget.
