Aston Villa and Tottenham might be jostling for Champions League places this season but they could also now be going head to head for a Champions League winning star.

The Villans and Spurs are both looking to cement European football in 2024/25 and both teams spent handsomely in the summer to improve their squads.
However, with the January window looming and teams looking to usurp each other in the Premier League, both Villa and Tottenham are looking for new additions.
And according to TBR Football sources, former Bayern Munich midfielder Malik Tillman is surfacing as a potential signing for both.
Tottenham and Aston Villa keen on former Rangers star Malik Tillman
TBR Football understands ex-Rangers midfielder Malik Tillman is emerging as a player of huge interest within the Premier League.
The American joined PSV Eindhoven permanently in the summer following loan stints from Bayern Munich and he has emerged as one of the stars of the Eredivisie.
The 22-year-old, who is remembered in the UK for his season long loan at Rangers in 2023, has bagged five goals and an assist from his 11 league starts.
TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have taken a keen interest in his progress, having previously picked up on his potential during his spell at Ibrox.
PSV made Tilman’s man move permanent in the summer for around £10million – but Bayern included a £30million buy back and a sell-on clause.
Tillman could be open to Premier League test
Having done the business in Scotland and now the Netherlands and also nabbing himself a Champions League medal with Bayern back in 2020, Malik Tillman could well fancy the Premier League as his next move.
Tillman was lauded as an incredible midfielder during his time with Rangers and at just 22, he has ample time on his side to go further in his career.
Tillman has enjoyed a fine start to the season with PSV over the Eredivisie, scoring six goals and providing four assists already.
With Bayern inserting that £30m buy-back clause, PSV will be looking for a similar figure should the likes of Spurs and Villa come sniffing with serious proposals.
