Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool aren’t planning to sign £38m player right now

Liverpool may be in the market for a new winger in the near future.

Mohamed Salah is out of contract in the summer, and while contract discussions with the Egyptian are ongoing, a plan needs to be in place for if Salah leaves.

The Reds have been linked with numerous wingers in recent times.

Karim Adeyemi is a reported Liverpool target, while the Reds seriously looked at signing Anthony Gordon this summer.

Mohammed Kudus is another player who has been linked with a move to Anfield, but according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking to Caught Offside, there’s currently no plans for Liverpool to sign Kudus.

Liverpool aren’t planning to sign Mohammed Kudus

Romano shared what he knows about the £38m West Ham star.

“Similarly, with Kudus and Liverpool there is currently nothing concrete to report. There will be 100 links per day on Liverpool with Salah out of contract but Liverpool are not in discussions or planning any move yet,” Romano said.

“It’s just a moment where they explore the market and still talk to Salah about the contract. So nothing really concrete on Kudus now, it’s not an October/November topic for sure.”

What Jurgen Klopp said about Mohammed Kudus

Liverpool may not be planning to sign Kudus at the moment, but this would be a smart signing.

The Ghanaian has been brilliant for West Ham for quite some time now, and Jurgen Klopp was a big fan of Kudus last season, describing him as a super-talented player.

“[Jarrod] Bowen, I’ve said it a couple of times, he’s one of my favourite players, [I] like a lot the way he developed since he came from Hull,” Klopp said.

“[Mohammed] Kudus, super-talented, [Lucas] Paqueta, Michail Antonio, top striker. And when Bowen plays up there then they find another solution, these kind of things.”

If Salah is to leave Anfield at the end of the season, Liverpool could do a lot worse than signing Kudus, but perhaps his West Ham teammates, Jarrod Bowen would be a better option.

Bowen has been linked to Liverpool for a long time, and he is very similar to Salah in the way he plays.

Regardless of who Liverpool end up going for, they may soon have to draw up a list of potential Salah replacements.
