Finance Expert sends UEFA warning to Rangers after what he spotted in accounts

Dan Plumley has warned Rangers over their player wages and amortisation costs ahead of UEFA regulation changes.

After posting an operating loss of £17.2million for the 2023 financial year, it was spotted that their player wages and amortisation are around 85 per cent of revenue at Ibrox.

Plumley, a football finance expert, admitted work needs to be done to trim that down with UEFA looking to get the marker down to 70 per cent by the 2025-26 season.

“One other interesting takeaway linked to the European side of things and UEFA’s new regulations,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.

“Their football cost at the minute loosely from what we can see in the accounts, player wages and player amortisation is about 85 per cent of revenue, and we know that UEFA are looking at getting that marker down to 70 per cent by the 2025-26 season.

“So, there is a little bit of work to do there and be mindful of the cost.”
