Frank Leboeuf slams Ruben Amorim over Man Utd vs Nottingham Forest mistake
Did the Man Utd head coach get it wrong?
Frank Leboeuf feels that Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim made a key mistake in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Amorim lost his second game in charge of the Red Devils since replacing Erik ten Hag this weekend as Forest won a five-goal thriller at Old Trafford.
Nikola Milenkovic fired Forest ahead after two minutes before Rasmus Hojlund got on the scoresheet to level things up heading into the break.
Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood made it 3-1 in the second half and that was enough for the win despite Bruno Fernandes reducing their lead.
‘The second half they were not in good shape,’ Leboeuf told ESPN about United’s performance.
‘They are not strong enough physically. They couldn’t handle the pressure, even against Nottingham Forest, with all due respect.
‘It’s going to be a hard season. It may be another hard season after this one, because they are going to have to change players.
‘What I didn’t like from Ruben Amorim today was as soon as they conceded two goals, he started to change everything.
‘Sometimes you have to make the players suffer. Use their pride in order to come back.
‘He changed the team and the shape. I didn’t like that because you don’t force the players to react.
‘Those players are maybe limited but they can change things. He’s trying to find solutions but it’s going to be hard because some of these players are not good enough to play for Manchester United.’
Meanwhile, some United fans have slammed Amorim for his decision to replace captain Fernandes with Mason Mount in the 76th minute.
‘You simply cannot take Bruno Fernandes off when you need to create two goals,’ one United supporter wrote on social media.
