Harry Maguire sends six-word Man United message after key development

Man United defender Harry Maguire has taken to social media to share an update after returning to first-team training on Wednesday (November 27).

The 31-year-old has been out of action after picking up a muscle injury in their 0-0 Premier League draw with Aston Villa earlier in the season.

Ruben Amorim’s side have been dealing with a defensive injury crisis, with Maguire, Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Victor Lindelof, and Lisandro Martinez all missing the 1-1 draw with Ipswich on Sunday (November 24).

United head into their Europa League clash against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt on Thursday (November 28) with an almost fully fit squad.

Only Yoro and Lindelof remain major doubts, though Amorim acknowledged it might still be too soon for Maguire’s on-pitch return.

Speaking in his press conference before the game, Amorim said: “Not Harry, Licha is ready. He didn’t stop too much time, so I feel he is ready. The situation is different to Harry’s.”

Maguire is one player who could be set to hugely benefit from Amorim’s appointment, with the Portuguese coach preferring a back three.

Excited by the opportunity to get back out there, the big centre-back took to Instagram to share an update with the fans.

Their game on Thursday will be Amorim’s first as manager at Old Trafford, with the home crowd expecting a dominant performance against the Arctic Circle minnows.

After that, attention will once again turn to the Premier League, with a game against Sean Dyche’s struggling Everton side on Sunday (December 1).
