Everton insider Paul Quinn has reacted on social media after TFG’s takeover drew closer on Wednesday evening.

The Athletic reported on 18 December that The Friedkin Group’s takeover is expected to be confirmed on Thursday (19 December) after months of waiting.

The new owners are set to attend the Chelsea match on Sunday (22 December) to run the roost over their new asset.

Reacting to the latest update, Quinn, who goes by The Esk posted on X, saying: “There should be huge relief and a massive weight lifted off the shoulders of all Everton fans who have campaigned for the highest standards.

“Many thanks and congratulations to the thousands that have not accepted the Everton presented by Moshiri and Kenwright previously.

“Lots to do, but for a short period, relax and celebrate.”

Huge moment for Everton

Blues supporters will feel like they have been waiting for an eternity for the takeover to be completed.

The Roma owners have a lot of issues to deal with once they take Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent stake in the Toffees.

Firstly, the future of manager Sean Dyche, who has been under pressure for a while with results not inspiring the Goodison Park fanbase.

Secondly, the future of the 11 players that are leaving the club in the summer as it stands, with some out of contract and others departing after their loan spells expire.

Finally, the January transfer window is coming up and the Blues need reinforcements to ensure that they are not dragged into another brutal relegation scrap.

However, for now, it is time for celebration and to look forward to a new era for the historic Merseyside club.

In other Everton news, a journalist says the Toffees want a Premier League striker, he is available for a January loan.
