Rangers secured three points as they pulled off a stunning 4-1 victory in the Europa League against Nice on Thursday night.
The Gers pulled off one of the most surprising results of the season, scoring four on the road in a thrashing of the French outfit.
Philippe Clement won’t be feeling as much pressure on his job at Ibrox thanks to strikes from Vaclav Cerny, Mohamed Diomande and a Hamza Igamane brace.
Here are the Ibrox News player ratings from the game:
Jack Butland – 7
The Englishman didn’t exactly have very much to do throughout the game but did what was required of him and will ultimately frustrated to have conceded a late free kick to wipe out his clean sheet.
Dujon Sterling – 7
Before being replaced by James Tavernier, the 25-year-old was positive in both attacking and defensive areas and certainly gave a good account of himself at right-back.
John Souttar – 6
Much like the goalkeeper behind him, Souttar didn’t really have much to do but was there when he was needed and looked strong on the ball when coming out from the back.
Robin Propper – 6
Another one who just played his part but wasn’t called into action very often thanks to the quality of Rangers going forward and the disappointing performance from the home side.
Jefte – 7
The Brazilian was superb at points in the clash against Nice, flying forward at almost every opportunity and so nearly got on the scoresheet. Against tougher opposition, he may have been caught out but did well regardless.
Nicolas Raskin – 6
The Belgian has a solid night against the French side, again not really forced into much defensive work but was sharp in challenges when his assistance was required from the backline.
Connor Barron – 7
Another positive showing from the young Scot who was unlucky not to pick up a goal or an assist on the night but played his role in everything good about the Gers on the night.
Hamza Igamane shines in Rangers forward line v Nice
Mohamed Diomande – 8
Similarly to his midfield partner, the Ivorian did well going forward and back, showing excellent determination to get himself on the scoresheet.
Nedim Bajrami – 7
Bajrami showed his qualities despite being frustrated not to have picked up a goal or an assist for his troubles. There were some flashes of what he can do but if he can add more goals and assists to his game, the Gers have a serious player on their hands.
Vaclav Cerny – 8
The 27-year-old doesn’t share the same issues as the Albanian as he netted his eighth goal for the Ibrox club with his deflected strike. His importance was reflected by being taken off early in an effort to allow him to rest as fixtures pile up.
Hamza Igamane- 9
Cyriel Dessers’ replacement on the night and the 22-year-old was absolutely superb. It was by no means a perfect performance but with two goals and assist, there was so much to appreciate about his ability on the ball and his output.
Substitutes
James Tavernier – 5
Ross McCausland – 5
Ridvan Yilmaz – 5
Cyriel Dessers – 3
If things couldn’t get worse for Dessers with Igamane’s performance, they did once he came on. The Nigerian missed a chance that was impossible to miss, just summing up his form in recent weeks.
Bailey Rice – N/A
