'I'd rather...' - Four Lads share immediate reaction as Rangers announce third summer signing

Four Lads Had A Dream have shared their immediate reaction after Rangers confirmed the signing of Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan.

The Light Blues announced in an official statement on Monday (10 June) that they had secured the 20-year-old signature on a pre-contract ahead of the expiry of his deal with the Italian giants.

Nsiala is Philippe Clement’s third signing of the summer and while Four Lads are happy to see the Belgian add some more defensive depth to his squad, they’re keen to see some more ready-made players.

Writing on X on Monday (10 June) he said: “Don’t know anything about Nsiala really. I do think if your second choice centre-back pairing is from Nsiala/Souttar/ Balogun then that could be ok?

“But real first-choice players are required? I’d rather a young prospect than an average first-team player with a big salary.”

Have Rangers signed AC Milan youngster Clinton Nsiala during the summer transfer window?

Rangers were always going to be busy during the summer transfer window, but it is safe to say the signing of Nsiala has come completely out of the blue and few would have expected his arrival at Ibrox.

He may not have plenty of first-team experience, but for what will be a relatively small compensation fee and likely small wages, this feels like a gamble that is worth taking and could potentially pay off for Clement and his side.

As Four Lads suggest, this cannot be the only defensive addition made this summer. He will add depth and in time he could be a regular starter, but a genuine first-choice centre-back or two needs to be found this summer.

The Gers have moved quickly to strengthen up top with the signing of Oscar Cortes and even reinforced at full-back with Jefte, but a centre-half must be next, otherwise, it will be advantage Celtic in next year’s title race.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues have been backed to move on Tom Lawrence this summer amid interest from abroad
