'I'm Hearing' - Keith Wyness shares West Ham takeover news after boardroom bust-up

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has revealed the West Ham hierarchy are actively pursuing new investment.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted he is hearing “a lot” about “dissatisfaction” behind the scenes at the London Stadium.

West Ham have started poorly in the Premier League this term despite a huge transfer spend in the recent summer window.

The Irons sit 14th in the table under new boss Julen Lopetegui and have won just one of their five games so far this term.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (24 September) that West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten is “in the firing line” of club chiefs after a dismal start to the season.

No fewer than 10 new faces came in during the summer with stars like Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd and James Ward-Prowse leaving the club.

West Ham seek takeover amid boardroom ‘dissatisfaction’, says Wyness

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I have a feeling there is a bit of a rot starting to set in behind the scenes at the London Stadium.

“I’m hearing a lot of things from the club about dissatisfaction in the boardroom.

“The club are looking to bring in new investors.”

West Ham is presently owned by four major investors – Daniel Kretinsky, David Sullivan, the Gold Family and Albert ‘Tripp’ Smith.

According to Forbes (May 2024), the Irons are worth £880million after their recent success in the Premier League and Uefa Conference League victory in 2023.

In other news, fans are all saying the same thing about Lopetegui “sacking”.
