John Textor believes he has a “90 per cent chance” of completing his takeover of Everton.
The 58-year-old, whose Eagle Football is the largest shareholder at Crystal Palace, has expressed his desire to create his own holding company to purchase Everton from Farhad Moshiri.
Textor is currently trying to sell his 45 per cent share at the London club in order to buy the Merseyside club, and plans to own the club alongside some of his “friends”.
As quoted by French news outlet Le Progres on 11 September, Textor said: “The possible acquisition of Everton would come from my own financing, I would be the buyer, the investor and not Eagle football.
“A new holding company would be created, Everton Football. Separate from OL and Eagle. I would be the main shareholder, with other friends.
“It could be a great partnership, an acquisition in equity, without debt. I tell myself that there is a 90% chance of realizing this sale.”
Could Textor be the turning point in Everton woes?
Textor believes he can become the new owner of the Toffees, and is confident that he can complete a deal before the November 30 deadline set in his exclusivity agreement.
This would give the potential new owner a month to make decisions before bringing in new players, and a potential new manager into the club, with Sean Dyche facing increased pressure on the Goodison hot seat.
Dyche’s potential replacement could be Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira [Alan Nixon], who has won two Copa Libertadores, and two Brazilian Serie A titles with his current club.
His time spent at Palace as well as Lyon, another club he is a shareholder for, has seen a flurry of huge stars come and go, which could make a possible Jarrad Branthwaite exit smoother than under Moshiri.
Everton fans have been desperate for new owners for a long time, and they could have their wish before the end of the year.
In other Everton news, Ukraine fans did this to Vitalii Mykolenko during the Nations League.
