Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was greeted by his former Leicester City team-mate Ben Chilwell after completing a ‘really exciting’ move to Chelsea.

The midfielder has signed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge after leaving his boyhood club, who he helped win the Championship last season to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Dewsbury-Hall will reunite with ex-Leicester boss Enzo Maresca, who joined Chelsea following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure from the club at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old, who has cost Chelsea £30m, was named Leicester’s player of the season in his final campaign at the King Power Stadium after scoring 12 goals and making 12 assists in 44 league games.

‘It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player,’ said Dewsbury-Hall.

‘This is a club people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it is a privilege to be here. I’m really excited to get going and can’t wait to show everybody what I can do.’

Dewsbury-Hall was pictured embracing former team-mate Chilwell at Chelsea’s training ground after putting pen to paper on the deal. Like the new Blues signing, Chilwell also left Leicester to move to Stamford Bridge.

On playing under Maresca, Chelsea’s fourth summer signing added: ‘I have made it pretty public about what I think of the new head coach. He is fantastic. He is top.

‘He completely changed the way Leicester wanted to play last season and we saw it worked. I personally fell in love with the way he wanted to play and I know a lot of the other lads did as well.

‘I am very confident coming here that he is going to implement his style and that the lads are going to buy into it and are going to enjoy it.

‘With more time working with it, it will look more natural and when that happens, it is going to be really good for the football club.’

Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season, recovering from a dismal start to the campaign to qualify for Europe under Pochettino.

Dewsbury-Hall wants to help the club with silverware next season and says Chelsea can be a ‘really dangerous’ opponent under Maresca.

‘My hopes for the season, first and foremost, is to win some silverware,’ he said ‘That is an aim for this club and we are in plenty of competitions this season where we can try to do that. So that is priority number one.

‘I want to play as many games as I can and try to help the team as much as possible. That is imperative to me.

‘I want to enjoy the moment and enjoy the occasion. There are going to be a lot of games this season and hopefully there will be a lot of ups.

‘Obviously, I know the head coach and the way he wants to play. It suits me as a player.

‘The squad is full of talent and has a lot of potential so I know that if it is nurtured right, then we can be really dangerous.’

Dewsbury-Hall becomes Chelsea’s fourth summer signing following Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu. They have also agreed a deal for Estevao Willian but the Brazilian will not move to Stamford Bridge until next summer.
