King expects Tottenham player to be sold after multi-million transfer news

Bryan King believes Tottenham and AC Milan will come to an agreement over the transfer of Emerson Royal.

The ex-Spurs scout feels that a move to Italy makes sense for the Brazillian defender.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (2 July), Emerson is keen on a move to the San Siro.

However, nothing has been agreed between the two clubs with Tottenham asking for £21.9million to let the 25-year-old leave.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels a deal will be done.

“That is a fair price for Emerson,” King said.

“He has played in several positions and never really settled in the team. When he has played he has played at right-back, left-back and centre-half.

“Therefore, I think he feels it is time to settle down and have a role in a football team where he is playing in his best position week in and week out.

“And if he is going to get that with Milan, and the money is right for him, I don’t think Tottenham are asking for an excessive transfer fee.

“I could see that deal being done.”

Will Tottenham sell Emerson Royal to AC Milan?

On paper, this is a deal which makes sense for all parties involved.

If Milan were to agree to pay Spurs’ asking price, it would see the North London side recoup almost the entire fee they paid to sign the full-back initially.

As for Emerson, it would allow him to go and play first-team football for a UEFA Champions League club in need of a new right-back.

Therefore, hopefully, an agreement can be reached that satisfies both clubs so this transfer can go ahead.
