King gushes over 'Incredible' new Tottenham signing after what he did v Hearts y'day

Bryan King has piled praise on Lucas Bergvall after the midfielder featured in a pre-season friendly between Tottenham and Hearts on Wednesday (17 July).

The ex-Spurs scout believes the 18-year-old is set for plenty of first-team minutes next season.

Bergvall played during the second half of Spurs’ clash with Hearts, grabbing an assist as the North London side ran out 5-1 winners.

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that the Sweden international could become a star in North London.

“He will be with the first-team squad next season, without a shadow of a doubt,” King said.

“Bergvall won’t be the first player to come from Swedish football at a young age and succeed. Spurs paid a lot of money for him, and he will be treated as a first-team player.

“All I can say is good luck to the boy. If he progresses as he has done in Sweden he could prove to be an incredible addition to the club.”

Postecoglou’s opening-day lineup in the Premier League will be incredibly interesting.

The Australian has several talented young players available to him, and supporters will therefore be curious to see how much he leans on that youth when the season gets underway.

Bergvall is one of those players, and he proved against Hearts at least that he deserves a look-in next season.

Whether or not he is thrown straight into the deep end in the Premier League remains to be seen. However, he will certainly hope to at least be a recognised member of the first-team squad.

And if he continues to perform similarly during pre-season, there is no reason why he won’t be.
