King urges Tottenham to sign 'Big Money' PL star after what happened this week

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has spoken out after Marcus Rashford’s recent transfer admission.

Spurs take on Manchester United for a place in the Carabao Cup semi-final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday [19 December], with Postecoglou expected to make two changes.

It doesn’t seem as though Rashford will be part of the squad to take on Tottenham, who need one player to step up, after admitting to Henry Winter on Tuesday [17 December] that he is ready to quit Manchester United in search of a new challenge [via The Mirror, 18 December].

When asked about Rashford’s recent comments, Postecoglou responded by saying [via Daily Mail, 18 December], “No interest, I don’t care.

“He’s a Man United player, a very good player. They’ve got plenty of good players. But I manage my players and I guess other managers will manage their own players. But in terms of Marcus’ situation, I have no real desire to examine it any further.”

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Postecoglou could use a player like Rashford.

“What about Tottenham making a move for Rashford?” King said.

“If they want to win anything, these are the kind of players they should be signing, which means they will need to spend big money. However, how often do you get a Rashford available?

“When his attitude is right, he can improve any team in the Premier League, including Tottenham.”

Postecogou is currently managing an injury crisis so bad that behind-the-scenes dismissals have been mooted as a result. Therefore, reinforcements in January could be critical.

And it seems as though Rashford could be available, and would certainly improve Tottenham if he arrives hungry to prove himself.

However, his big wages could prove to be a stumbling block, although Daniel Levy really doesn’t have any excuse not to come up with the money.

Spurs look set for yet another big payday in North London, and perhaps it is time they start using those funds to make high-profile signings such as Rashford.
