Koppen reveals how many players reached final stage of Rangers transfer recruitment process

Nils Koppen has revealed that as many as 62 players reached the final transfer recruitment process for Rangers this summer.

In an interview with Rangers Review [16 October] this stage saw Philippe Clement reviewing footage of the players and often discussions were held with individuals as well.

The club’s director of football recruitment also admitted that it was important the club stuck to the plan and did not go for names who’ve not been through the process.

“It’s important to stick to the plan and not react with players who have not been through this process,” Koppen stated.

While Koppen’s detailed recruitment process at Ibrox sounds robust and methodical in theory, its success ultimately hinges on the performance of the players once they join the squad.
