Chelsea survived a late penalty to earn a 2-1 win at Leicester City in the Premier League as Enzo Maresca returned to haunt his old club.
Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea the lead early in the first-half as the Blues began in dominant fashion but the Foxes rallied and came close to an equaliser before the break.
After numerous missed chances for both sides, player of the match Enzo Fernandez appeared to wrap up the game late on with a headed goal.
But Leicester kept trying and won a penalty in injury time, which Jordan Ayew converted but it would prove to be just a consolation.
Victory for Maresca’s side keeps them third in the table but closes the gap to Liverpool and Manchester City before they play later this weekend.
