Liverpool could be set to part ways with first-choice goalkeeper Alisson as part of their goalkeeping overhaul.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arne Slot’s side are tempted to take advantage of Saudi interest in the 31-year-old and put their faith in Mamardashvili, 23.
Mamardashvili was one of only two summer signings for Liverpool, joining the club for £25m plus £4m in add-ons before returning to Valencia for a season-long loan.
Alisson will be 32 by the end of the 2024-25 season, and with his contract due to expire in 2027, next summer may be Liverpool’s last chance to command a high fee.
Liverpool could let Alisson leave
The Brazilian has been Liverpool’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper since making the £67million move from Roma back in 2018.
With 266 appearances, 117 clean sheets, and a last-minute winner against West Brom have made him arguably one of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history.
Alisson has started all three of Liverpool’s opening Premier League games so far this season and has yet to concede a single goal.
Current Liverpool second-choice Caoimhin Kelleher recently made his feelings known about his lack of game time at the club, claiming he asked to leave Liverpool in the summer during a press conference while on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.
Liverpool face Nottingham Forest at Anfield upon their return from the international break on Saturday, September 14th.
