Manchester City want at least £42m for goalkeeper Ederson this summer after Al Nassr made an initial bid of £25m.

The Saudi Pro League clubs are looking to flex their financial muscles again this summer and the Brazilian star would be an impressive signing.

The 30-year-old has been crucial to Manchester City’s success since joining from Benfica in 2017, winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League with the club.

He has also battled it out with Alisson Becker for the number one spot with Brazil, winning 25 caps for his country.

With Ederson’s 31st birthday coming up in August he still has a long time to play at the top level, but he is reportedly keen on making the move to Saudi Arabia from the Premier League.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City are not interested in the first €30m (£25m) bid from Al Nassr and will only let the ‘keeper leave for a minimum of €50m (£42m).

The report also states that Ederson has agreed to make the move to Saudi and is just waiting on the clubs to come to an agreement.

The Sun report that Manchester City are very keen to keep hold of their goalkeeper and intend to hold talks with him next week in a bid to convince him to stay.

Al Nassr are reportedly offering the Brazilian an incredible £900,000-a-week, which even the mega rich Premier League champions cannot compete with.

However, Manchester City will put an offer on the table that will see his current salary significantly increased to around £1million a month.

If Ederson is intent on leaving for Saudi then City are unlikely to stand in his way, as long as Al Nassr meet their asking price.
