Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is considering joining Napoli this summer if the Serie A side make a suitable offer.

Napoli have made contact over a move for the Scotland international and while United are not actively looking to sell their academy graduate, they will consider offers.

United need to raise additional funds through player sales to finance further summer transfers with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte still a target for the club.

While Erik ten Hag says he would like to keep McTominay, who scored 10 goals last season, permanent transfer offers will be assessed with the midfielder valued between £25million and £30million.

McTominay would appear to be tempted by a move to the Serie A giants, with ESPN reporting he is ‘aware of Napoli’s interest’ with their offer ‘under consideration’.

Fulham are also interested in McTominay having seen two offers rejected in recent weeks. Galatasaray have also been credited with interest.

United are looking for a permanent deal rather than a loan move. That stance may present a problem for Napoli with The Times reporting their budget does not stretch to United’s asking price with a loan their preferred arrangement.

United have brought four new players to the club this summer with Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui all arriving for a combined fee of around £150m.

Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Donny van de Beek, Willy Kambwala and Alvaro Fernandez have all been moved on with Jadon Sancho among those who could also be sold to raise additional funds.

Harry Maguire is another whose future has remained uncertain, heightened by the arrival of de Ligt this week.

However, the former captain has no plans to leave Old Trafford this summer and is said to be confident of getting plenty of opportunities this season.
