Manchester United continue to add to their new-look team off the field, with Paris Saint-German chief revenue officer Marc Armstrong due to join the club, according to reports.

French publication L’Equipe reports that the Red Devils are set to bring in the Brit to work alongside Jean-Claude Blanc once again.

Blanc, now a director at Manchester United, worked with Armstrong at PSG and moved to Old Trafford earlier this year.

Armstrong worked for the Football Association for a decade from 1997 as Head of Business Development and went on to work for the NFL and NBA in commercial roles.

He moved to PSG in 2018 as chief partnerships officer before stepping into the chief revenue officer position in 2022.

The exact title he will take at Manchester United is not yet clear, but he will be involved in bringing revenue into the club, which will be key after the Red Devils’ losses for last season were confirmed.

The club’s losses grew to £113.2m over the last campaign, which came after net losses in the previous two years of £28.7m and £115.5m.

As Premier League clubs are only allowed to lose £105m over a rolling three-year time period, the losses bring into question Manchester United’s ability to comply with profit and sustainability regulations (PSR).

United said in a statement: ‘The club remains committed to, and in compliance with, both the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Regulations.’

CEO Omar Berrada said: ‘We are working towards greater financial sustainability and making changes to our operations to make them more efficient, to ensure we are directing our resources to enhancing on-pitch performance.’
