Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi could spend up to nine months on the sidelines after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moffi has been a consistent performer for club and coubtry over the last three years. He made his name at Ligue 1 side Lorient before joining Nice in January 2023.
Since joining Nice, the 25-year-old striker has been quite consistent for Nice, as he has registered 20 goals and five assists in 52 appearances. Following his impressive performances, Moffi has been linked with Roma and Napoli this summer, but nothing concrete has emerged from those talks.
Amidst the rumours, the former Lorient man has returned to Lorient for pre-season, and he has already featured for them.
But in a unfortunate twist, the Super Eagles star will not be able to play football for the next six months at least. This is due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained during a training session at the club on monday.
Typically, ACL injuries could last up to a year.
