Newcastle United fans have demanded the club sell Callum Wilson “ASAP” after the striker suffered yet another injury blow.

Reports claimed the striker will be ruled out of their opening Premier League fixture against Southampton after undergoing surgery on his back.

This is the latest in a long line of injury problems Wilson has faced during his spell at St James’ Park, and fans’ patience is beginning to wear thin.

The news of his latest blow has come just days after it emerged that Eddie Howe was keen on keeping his number nine at the club amid transfer rumours.

As reported by Football Insider, fans were left frustrated by Howe’s choice, with some warning that the boss could lose his job as a result of misplaced loyalty.

Now, they have been proven right about Wilson and this latest injury has led to calls for the club to cash in during the summer window.
