Newcastle United fans name hardly-seen player 'most important' at the club

Newcastle United fans have labelled Joe Willock the “most important” member of the squad after his performance against Wolves.

The midfielder made his return to the team following a thigh injury and made an immediate impact as the Magpies came from behind to win 2-1.

The 25-year-old came off the bench at halftime and provided an assist for Harvey Barnes’ winning goal.

It marked only his second appearance in the Premier League this season after an injury-plagued 2023-24 campaign.

He has made 105 appearances since joining the north east giants, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists.

However, Newcastle fans were left impressed enough by what they saw against Wolves that they believe he could break into the starting lineup moving forward.
