Liverpool are in fine form at present and their future looks incredibly bright under Arne Slot.
Any fears that 2024/25 would be a transitionary season at Anfield in wake of Jurgen Klopp’s departure have been allayed by just how well Slot has done.
Liverpool are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have won all of their games in the Champions League, including against Real Madrid.
Next year, the Reds are set to welcome Giorgi Mamardashvili at Anfield after striking a deal with Valencia in the summer.
The Georgia international remains on loan at the Liga club but will move to Liverpool at the end of the season.
Now, Georgia assistant manager David Webb has told Reds fans just what they can expect from the 23-year-old goalkeeper – and it’s very good news.

Giorgi Mamardashvili deemed a ‘perfect fit for Liverpool’
Webb, speaking to GiveMeSport, believes Mamardashvili is a “perfect fit for Liverpool” and has all the qualities and mindset to get to the top.
“Giorgi just feels like a perfect fit for Liverpool,” said Webb.
“He’s an outstanding shot stopper. He commands his box. He’s very athletic, not only big but strong as well.
“And one of his best attributes, which I suppose Liverpool fans may not know, is his character.
“He’s got a very, very strong character. He’s an extremely hard worker and is determined to get right to the top.”
Mamardashvili backed to become one of the best five keepers in world football
Webb then spoke of how Mamardashvili joined Valencia in 2021 as a reserve player and worked so hard that he was their number one within a year.
“Although he joined Valencia from Dinamo Tbilisi, he was on loan at Locomotive Tbilisi, a relatively small club in Georgia, before moving to Spain,” said Webb.
“To go from there to a regular La Liga starter in 12 months is quite incredible. And part of that success is down to his character and mental resilience.”
Webb then predicted that Mamardashvili will enjoy life at Liverpool and is on the way to becoming one of the best five goalkeepers in the world.
“Giorgi is determined and tenacious,” said Webb. “I think he will really embrace Liverpool, as both a club and a culture, and relish the challenge of replacing Alisson.
“I can see him becoming one of the top-five keepers in world football in the next few years. In fact, he’s already not far off.”
It’s good to hear Webb speak so highly about Mamardashvili and also deeming him a great fit for Liverpool.
Not long ago, Mamardashvili’s suitability for Liverpool was questioned by Premier League legend Mark Schwarzer and Dermot Corrigan, La Liga correspondent for The Athletic.
However, Webb has actually worked with Mamardashvili on a fairly regular basis in Georgia’s setup, so he will be better placed than most to know about the player’s quality and personality.
