Rangers star James Tavernier is said to be at a crossroads at Ibrox with an exit still on the cards this week, according to the BBC.
The broadcaster has reported that speculation has continued with clubs in Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with their transfer windows still open.
It is said that Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Besiktas would be an obvious option for Tavernier, with Steven Gerrard and Al-Ettifaq also mentioned.
James Tavernier to leave Rangers?
With their deadline quickly approaching on Friday 13 September, it is said that no offers have arrived from Turkey just yet for the defender [Joshua Barrie].
Philippe Clement is already under pressure as it is, and selling your captain, no matter how poorly he is playing, is not the answer when you can’t suitably replace him.
Rangers fans are starting to get incredibly frustrated though, and it was Tavernier who took the brunt of that at Ibrox in a confrontation after the 3-0 defeat against Celtic.
With the summer transfer window closed at Ibrox, it is time to get behind the squad and every player in there, with no chance that this move should be sanctioned.
Tavernier may be coming to the end of his amazing career at Ibrox, but selling him isn’t the answer and he will be giving everything to turn things around this season.
It’s time to move on from this speculation.
In other Rangers news, Clement has now entered “sacked territory” at Ibrox after what he said.
