Rangers will make around £4million combined from the departure of Connor Goldson and Jose Cifuentes, according to TEAMtalk.
Cifuentes will join Greek side Aris Thessaloniki on loan so his loan fee including Goldson’s transfer fee as he’s set to join Aris Limassol permanently will amount to £4million.
Goldson will be heading to Austria for the Cypriot outfit’s pre-season tour and he’s already met his new teammates. [Sky Sports]
Rangers have done a phenomenal job getting rid of the deadweight this summer
Gers have indeed done a phenomenal job in offloading the deadweight from their squad this summer.
The departures of Goldson and Cifuentes for a combined fee of around £4 million represent a significant step in the club’s efforts to rejuvenate and strengthen their team.
Goldson, a long-serving defender and Cifuentes, a midfielder who struggled to make an impact, were both deemed surplus to requirements at Ibrox.
Their departures not only free up space in the squad but also provide Gers with a substantial financial boost.
Along with them, even Sam Lammers has left while James Tavernier is expected to follow him out as well, while a number of players are no longer at the club.
This financial windfall can be reinvested in the transfer market to bring in fresh talent and address areas of weakness in the team.
It’s a strategic move that aligns with the club’s long-term vision and ambition to compete at the highest level.
In other Rangers news, a club president has green-signalled the exit of a player as Gers have issued a “significant” bid to sign him.
