Arsenal got their season off to a winning start this weekend and now all eyes are on if they can make a new signing this week.
The Gunners have added Riccardo Calafiori to the squad this summer but on the whole, it has been a slow window in terms of incomings.
Still, with a few weeks of the window remaining, Arsenal remain active and there’s every chance they do make a new signing.

Indeed, according to reports from Spain, Arsenal are very much working to finalise one major transfer.
Mikel Merino finalising Arsenal transfer after being left out by Real Sociedad
According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are very much working to sign Merino and it’s claimed the player is close to finalising things.
It comes as Sociedad left Merino out of their squad over the weekend for their opening La Liga fixture.
Indeed, Merino to Arsenal has been one of the deals that seems to have been dragging on throughout the summer and we were even told a few days ago a deal for Merino almost over the line.
Still, it looks like Arsenal are indeed creeping towards getting this one done and giving themselves yet another option in the midfield.
The end of Jorginho at Arsenal?
While many see the signing of Mikel Merino as one that will enable Declan Rice to push further forward, it does beg the question over what happens now with Jorginho.
The experienced Italian has been so important to Mikel Arteta and his squad but the signing of the ‘world-class’ Merino does nudge him down the pecking order a tad.
Of course, it is a long season and with European football, Jorginho might well play his part.
But still, the Italian will be wondering just where he slots into things now albeit Thomas Partey looks the most likely to be sold by Arsenal.
