Revealed: Wolves told '£40m' offer would be accepted after initial bid

Wolves have been told that £40million will be enough to seal a deal to sign Burnley winger Luca Koleosho, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Clarets have set a “big price tag” on the 20-year-old.

Wolves had attempted to sign the winger during deadline day of the summer transfer window, but they were put off by the price tag that the Championship side have set.

The Midlands club now know exactly how much it will cost if they decide to sign him, but there is a lot of interest from other teams.

Burnley have moved quickly to lock him down to a new five-year contract and they expect big money to consider selling him in the future.

A deal for the winger is unexpected to take place during the January transfer window, and will be dependent on where Burnley sit in the table.

Wolves will need to compete against other teams to sign Luca Koleosho

Koleosho has scored two goals in five games this season in the Championship, and his performances have caught the eyes of several teams.

Wolves will face competition in trying to sign him in the future, with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle interested in signing his services.

However, Gary O’Neil is currently focusing on trying to sign two free agents James Tompkins and Paul Dummett following Yerson Mosquera’s injury.

Wolves have had a winless start to the season which have left the club bottom of the Premier League to start the campaign.

O’Neil’s side will be back in action on Saturday (28 September) as they host Liverpool.
