Richarlison faces being transfer listed by Tottenham as update emerges

Tottenham could put Richarlison up for sale next year if he regains his fitness over the second half of the current season, according to The Athletic.

The outlet reported via their website on 29 November that the Brazil international is the “most sellable” player remaining at Spurs.

He turned down a big-money move to an unnamed Saudi Arabian club last summer to fight for a place under Ange Postecoglou, but has continued to face fitness issues and could, therefore, be shown the door out of the North London club.

Richarlison’s Tottenham spell maybe coming to an end

Tottenham forked out an initial sum of £50million to sign Richarlison from Everton ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The Premier League club, though, have not got their money’s worth as the striker has netted just 16 times in the 73 appearances across all competitions so far.

Shipping him off to Saudi Arabia for a hefty sum in the summer would have helped Spurs recoup the money they spent on him and invest it into strengthening their squad further.

Instead, the former Watford star is proving to be a burden on the treatment table after suffering an injury setback during a substitute appearance against Aston Villa on 3 November.

While a temporary exit in January has already been mooted, it is unclear if that is a realistic possibility as Richarlison is expected to be sidelined for a “significant amount of time”, according to Postecoglou.

Daniel Levy, meanwhile, could already be thinking of a life beyond the 27-year-old, with Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha on the club’s radar [TBR Football].
